The Lord said to Noah...

3:01 PM Edit This 0 Comments »

On January 15th, we were invited along to accompany Form 2 and Form 4 religion classes from CLSNP on their educational field trip to Noah's Ark on Ma Wan Island here in Hong Kong. The Ark is built to biblical measurements and is surrounded by two-by-two life-sized animal replicas. Inside there are many halls, many historical items, accounts/displays of the attempted journeys made to find Noah's Ark, and 3-D movies to fully experience the significance of the Ark (The story of Noah, Noah's trust in God despite all circumstances and the blessing of the beauty of the earth and how we should care for it).
We co-teach in Form 4 religion classes and being able to accompany them to such an incredible event was a blessing. Many of our students are not Christians and witnessing the massiveness of the Ark helped to reveal to them the courage and strength that only the one true God can give. May the Lord be glorified in all things!

Love Change The World!
This year at Concordia Lutheran School -- North Point (CLSNP) the Bible curriculum has been based off of seven different aspects of love. Over the course of the past semester I was able to integrate English into different religion classes learning about these aspects of love.
This video was shown at almost the beginning of every class...

While I cannot understand the language, I knew it was about love and after the fourth or fifth time it grew on me. On November 28th I was invited to attend the wedding of one of the teachers at Lutheran Siu Leun School. I co-teach second grade math at LSL with Irene. We rode to the wedding with the choir from school and they sang this song during the wedding. I immediately recognized it and when I got home looked up the lyrics. It is a blessing to be here and a privilege to be a part of events like these.
Here is the video of my LSL kids singing the same song at the wedding of one of their teachers...

This is a rough translation of the lyrics.

we will love, we can make a difference
you and I were made to love each other
every dream will complete his plan
we will carry each other, when hopes are gone
so we can make a difference in this world

we will love, because he loves us first
God made us not the same but we're together
to sing a song of love

we will love, because he loves us first
no matter what we'll choose to stay together
so we will smile, and we'll forgive
for your love will bring us heaven on earth
